Why we love it

Buckwheat flour is a darker flour, ground to a powder from whole, dried buckwheat. Despite the name, buckwheat is naturally completely wheat and gluten free (provided it was not processed near wheat), and is home to a variety of minerals and key nutrients. It also contains the antioxidant rutin, which aids in circulation and helps prevent blood vessels from becoming blocked.

  • Great used in combination with other flours, not in isolation (as it has no natural gluten for structure)

I specifically needed this type of flour for making savory French crepes and couldn’t find it in the shops anywhere. The pancakes came out fantastic and it’s a new family favorite for dinner. Lovely, earthy tasting flour.
Flour is great but the packaging is not good and mine arrived in a box with other flours that had stiffer packaging so my Buckwheat flour was strewn all over the box. I dont buy this brand anymore as the packaging is too tight and too thin!
My husband is pastry chef and a baker and he absolutely loves this flour. He uses it in a blend with other flours and makes the most delicious breads! This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered it and will definitely be a repeat order.
Love using this as a flour substitute. It's also good for thickening soups and stews. I mainly use it for making my kids pancakes and as a thickener.
