Directions:

• Start by breaking off about 18 inches of floss and wind most of it around one of your middle fingers. Wind the remaining floss around the same finger of the opposite hand.
• Hold the floss tightly between your thumbs and forefingers, and gently insert it between your teeth using a back-and-forth motion. Be careful not to snap the floss into your gums, which can cause injury.
• Curve the floss around the base of each tooth, making sure to go beneath the gum line. Use a clean section of floss for each tooth so that you are not transferring bacteria from one tooth to another.
• Use a gentle up-and-down motion to remove plaque and food particles between your teeth.
