Stefani Filter Replacement Tap

The Stefani water filter makes use of this tap. I have found that when using the top activating lever, it can wear easily if not lubricated by some light oil to aid its movement. A few drops of oil let's the tap lever move much more easily and last much longer than it would when used as supplied in the packaging.

The Tap Breaks so easily and is something that needs constant replacement . Surely the manufacturer can be advised of these numerous complaints and build a better quality Tap

I would recommend the actual water filter unit, but not this flimsy tap. It breaks so easily and is expensive to replace. Surely a small modification would ensure a sturdier tap.

Thanks to Deon for his tip of using light oil lubricant to hopefully ensure tap-life longer than some recent reviews indicated. I think it's only the 2nd replacement tap in the 20+years I've been using the Water Cooler. I'm giving the tap a 5* rating in the hopes that with Deon's hint, this will give me as good service as the earlier 2 did.. Fingers crossed!

We love our Stefani water filter, but these taps are made to break, especially if you have kids. We've had to replace ours at least 6x in the 5 years since we bought the filter. The entire mechanism hinges on 2 tiny plastic nipples clamped onto a plastic dowel, and either the nipples shear off or the dowel snaps, but here we are again, forking out R115 for a piece of plastic that really cost a few rand wholesale.
