Why we love it

The wild rose-bush is indigenous to parts of Ukhlamba Highlands, close to the Drakensberg. The intensely red coloured fruits of this native bush are harvested for their seeds, from which Rose Hip oil is extracted by steam distillation. Rose Hip oil has amazing regenerative properties, with high levels of vitamin A and essential fatty acids, and is often used to treat scars, reduce wrinkles and the signs of premature aging that is often as a result of sun damage. Soil Organic Rose Hip Oil is now available in a 30ml serving, with a handy pipette for easy application.

Description
  • A 30ml bottle of Soil Organic Rose Hip Oil for use on the skin, hair or as a carrier oil.
  • Wonderful for the treatment of scars, reducing signs of aging and healing sun damage
  • Use as a carrier oil for massage, aromatherapy or making your own beauty products

Directions

Carrier oils are generally cold pressed vegetable oils. In aromatherapy these oils are used as a base into which the highly concentrated essential oils are diluted. Each carrier oil has its own unique properties which have many benefits in aromatherapy. Blended with essential oils, or on their own, these oils can be used for massage or as bath oils. The 30ml dropper oils are particularly useful to apply as skincare oils on their own or in addition to other skincare serums and creams.

Ingredients

Pure organic rose hip oil.

My mid-forties skin loves extra oils... and because I am becoming more aware of the dangers of mainstream beauty products, I have started looking at natural alternatives. This age-old remedy to guard against untimely wrinkles is well-known in the beauty world. And some Hollywood stars swear by it. So I figured, why not!?! Love it... except the weird smell, which fades fast enough... but I may add a drop of something prettier before I use it on some of my more diva-esque models *winks* and *grins* !
I use this good quality oil as a natural moisturiser. I have found it works best at night when blended with a carrier oil. Soil is my new go to essential oil brand.
I use this oil every night on my face as a moisturizer. Leaves my face soft and plump the natural way.
Absolutely mind-blown by this essential oil. I Started seeing results after only 2 days of using it. It makes my skin softer, moist and gives it an amazing glow and firmness. I use this oil in the evening after washing my face. Using a cotton ball, I dab the oil on my face and leave it to absorb. Will absolutely order it again and won't stop using it.
SO! The dreaded smell issue: I got this oil twice from the same exact brand, Soil. One with expiry date in 2021 which had a very reddish hue which smelled absolutely rancid (didn't buy it here btw). Smell was somewhat like a fried spicy tomato paste, but very unpleasant in my mind. I couldn't deal with it and returned it, then bought another one - batch with expiry in 2020 which was lighter in colour and smelled more like freshly cut grass, which was totally user-friendly and bearable and subtle. It's a real mystery to me, as the better smelling one was older. I am not sure if the issue is storage, production or the harvest batch but if you get a smelly one, don't disregard rosehip oil in general - it might be just that batch or that specific bottle... As for the benefits, agree with the positive reviews - skin is healthier, more glowy, soothed after just a few days of use.
