The idea of a facial toner containing bacteria might sound strange – after all, we clean our skin to get rid of bacteria! But of course, not all bacteria are harmful; many are beneficial, and necessary for our wellbeing. Toner Plus is formulated to help these beneficial microbes thrive.

Balancing the “ecosystem” of your skin:

There are two types of bacteria which work to promote the skin cells’ production of defensin, a substance that helps to regulate the skin’s microbial population. These beneficial bacteria (namely Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus acidophilus) are found naturally on your skin’s surface; but using products with antimicrobial agents and synthetic preservatives will decrease their levels dramatically. The lactobacillus in Toner Plus helps to get things back in balance again.

Eczema and bacteria imbalance:

Eczema-prone skin typically has a microbial imbalance, with a dominance of bacteria known as Staphylococcus aureus. The skin needs a more balanced microbial ecosystem, richer in beneficial bacteria, to keep it healthy and robust.

Directions

• Spritz Toner Plus onto cleansed skin. Spread lightly over your face and neck with clean fingertips. Apply a natural moisturiser.
• Use Toner Plus twice daily; you should start to see results after 2 weeks.
• If you have eczema, apply Esse Repair Oil to the affected area before using Toner Plus.

Please Note:

All Esse products are balanced at an acid pH, which is compatible with your skin. For best results, use Toner Plus only with other Esse products (cleanser, moisturiser etc). Mixing it with other brands is not recommended.

Please Note: The ascorbyl palmitate that may be used in this Esse product is a derivative of ascorbic acid and palmitic acid - the palmitic acid is isolated from either coconut, rape seed or palm oil. Esse have insured to use a supplier that has RSPO certification for times where palm oil is used in their products.
