It is not sweet at all, which I like. It isn't tempered like the other famous brand and has a different texture. But I enjoy it anyway as something different.
This is by far my favourite chocolate brand! It's such a complex chocolate with a unique fruitiness that lasts long after you've finished the slab. I absolutely love that they are direct trade (it's THE most sustainable way to source cocoa beans) and proudly African (creating jobs). According to their social media, they are organic (just not certified). Never buying imported Swiss or Belgian chocolate ever again - this is way more affordable anyway!
Freaking delicious mate! Packed with actual cocoa bean flavour, super smooth and tasty as heck. Also, if you look deeper into the Afrikoa story, you'll find that their chocolate is the only direct trade chocolate on the South African market, which means no child slavery (A.K.A Frey chocolat), and the farmers are ACTUALLY paid well. Also, they're South African and Saffas support Saffas.
If you like really dark chocolate, you will like it. I think I need to stick to little less cocoa, but it is a good alternative for dairy free chocolate.
I got this as a free sample, and was very surprised by the sweet taste, for such a dark chocolate. However, it was very smooth and delicious!
